What should I wear?

Wear something comfortable, its no good hooping in jeans as your too restricted.

I like to wear shorts and tights and just a t-shirt.

Cotton is great as it keeps you cool and lets you breathe.

Dont wear tops that have strings and bits attached as they will just get caught up in your hoop.

And remove necklaces as neck hooping causes them to rub....ouch!

What size hoop should I be using?

This depends on what size you are the smaller size you are the smaller your hoop should be.

I would recommend beginners use a larger hoop as it moves slower.

As you progress you may want to swap your hoop for a smaller and lighter one. As they move faster and when using multiple hoops are easier to control.

A basic guide for buying your hoop.

Size 8-10 =37inches

Size 12-14=39inches

size 16 plus=40inches

Left hooping and right hooping

Like I said on my homepage try to learn both ways from the start as later on you will need to hoop both ways for more advanced moves.

You will naturally hoop one way more than the other.

I know you may not want to as you'll be eager to move onto the next move but it will benefit you in the future.

Warm ups and cool downs

Always do your warm ups before you start otherwise you will ache like mad the next day.

Simple stretches that use all your muscles for 5 mins before hand AND after should be enough.

Benefits of hooping?

Great excerise.

Lots of fun.

Great for your mind.

And you get to look pretty cool at the same time

Dont give up

If you are finding a move a little tricky have some time out.

Dont pressure yourself.I usually find a little break from it or trying something new and comming back to it helps alot and refreshes my mind.
